Pendants
A collection of wearable pendants marrying cast concrete with embedded pieces of cut glass and typographic collages. I am intrigued by the casting process – the action of translating one shape through its positive and negative, from one material into another. Casting is parallel to the shifting quality of memories as they are replayed and passed from person to person. Each copy of the form remains more or less the same shape as its mother mold, but acquires its own unique characteristics: individual interiors, nicks, and scratches from the handmade process.
